Vietnam Veterans Against the War – Operation Dewey Canyon III

On April 19, 1971, Vietnam veterans groups from Hartford, New Haven, and Stamford joined demonstrations in Washington, DC. Calling for immediate American withdrawal, the organization Vietnam Veterans Against the War organized five days of demonstrations, including the staging of a guerrilla theater to simulate search and destroy tactics across the capital city. The rally began with a march to Arlington National Cemetery and a meeting with members of Congress on the front steps of the Capitol.
