Traces of Connecticut’s iron age can still be found in the state’s northwest corner where its production transformed Salisbury, Sharon, North Canaan, and other communities in Litchfield County that fall within the Salisbury Iron District. The District also encompasses towns in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and in New York’s Dutchess and Columbia Counties.
